Makefest Festival at the Liverpool Central Library. Entrance free. Plenty of events and it’s jam packed with things to do. The Liverpool AS will have solar telescopes on the library roof (weather permitting) plus our desk and displays will have an Apollo theme celebrating the Apollo project and the 50th anniversary of humans landing on the Moon. Come and talk to amateur astronomers and Apollo experts and meet our very own astronaut!! Note this is a central library event, please check the Liverpool 2019 Makefest website for more details.

Celebrating 50 years of the first Lunar Landing, Apollo 11 July 20th 2019 Celebrating the anniversary of man’s greatest ever adventure, Apollo 11 and the first humans to walk on the Moon, Liverpool Astronomical Society in conjunction with the Liverpool Central Library are holding a special event at the Liverpool Central Library on Saturday 20th July, 2019. This is an all day free event. There will be talks by experts about the Apollo programme from the 1960’s and 70’s, Apollo displays and Apollo memorabilia. Plus plenty of experts to talk too. There will also be Solar telescopes on the library roof to observe solar flares, sunspots and the Sun in HA (weather permitting). Plus meet our very own astronaut!
